The Kaiyukan Aquarium is one of the largest aquariums in the world. Here, marine life is contained within 15 tanks, each representing a region of the Pacific Rim on which Japan sits. The aquarium is centered around a single huge tank holding 5,400 tons of water and containing 580 species and 30,000 Pacific Rim marine animals. The tanks are made from huge pieces of foot-thick acrylic glass.

The crown jewel of the aquarium is undoubtedly the whale shark. Its gotta be around 20-30 ft long. Its the largest type of fish in the world. This prehistoric mammal has existed for 60 million years. See it and be humbled by its enormous grace and presence.
